Ron Knox

Ron was born in Toronto Ontario and then raised in southern Ontario cottage country but has made the West Kootenays British Columbia his home. Ron has had a passion for art since the young age of ten with his drawing. He was lucky to have gained skills and inspiration from a botanical artist in Ontario during his younger years. His passion for drawing led him to the field of Mechanical Design and Drafting. Starting machine design back in the years when drafting was done by hand on drafting boards and hand sketching machines and parts has also helped develop his artistic skills over the years. the move to British Columbia has greatly inspired his painting, with a new subject to paint around every corner with his love of the mountains. His passion for painting and the great outdoors go hand in hand.

Ron captivates the viewers’ attention with his very unique impression/surrealism style while capturing the beautiful bold colors of nature. His medium of choice is acrylics and oils but does also enjoy painting with watercolors as each has a special quality about them.
